Luise Straus Prize of the LVR
The Luise Straus Prize of the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) honours outstanding work in the field of visual arts and is aimed at female artists who have lived and/or worked in the LVR region for at least two years. The prize is endowed with 5000 €. The winner always receives a solo exhibition in the Leonora Carrington Hall of the Max Ernst Museum Brühl of the LVR, for which the LVR produces an accompanying catalogue. This year's winner is the artist Alex Grein. The award ceremony and exhibition of her work will take place in November 2025.
The award's name giver, Luise Straus (1893, Cologne – 1944, Auschwitz concentration camp), was an art historian, journalist specialising in art and culture and one of the first female art historians to gain a doctorate. Luise Straus was the first wife of the surrealist artist Max Ernst.

Max Ernst Grant of the City of Brühl
The Max Ernst Grant was established in 1971 by the city of Brühl on Max Ernst's 80th birthday. The prize, which is endowed with 10.000 €, is aimed at supporting young emerging artists and has developed over the years into a grant with an international circle of applicants. The prizewinner's work is presented as part of an exhibition in the Leonora Carrington Hall of the Max Ernst Museum Brühl of the LVR. This year's scholarship holder is the installation and video artist Katharina Keller.
